Valgrande. Lunelli Refuge (mt.1568). Berti Refuge (mt.1950). Sentinella Pass (mt.2717).

Take a drive up to Comelico Superiore and, along the SS52 after the town of Moie, turn left into Valgrande. Follow it up to Rifugio Lunelli, where you can leave your car. Rifugio Lunelli is full of historical relics from the Great War, particularly moving: from here, the Alpini would depart to fight on the crest of Passo della Sentinella, between Croda Rossa di Sesto and Cima 11, where the front line ran. From here, with your backpack on, continue to Rifugio Berti along a path dotted with small waterfalls and streams, among rocks and mountain pines, never particularly exposed. Rifugio Berti is the ideal place to refresh yourself. From here you can choose: take a nice rest on the meadows around the refuge, continue up to the first crests passing by some beautiful small lakes, or take on the challenge of climbing to Passo della Sentinella. In this third case, make sure you have the right shoes, are in good shape, and have some experience. Whatever choice you make, rest at Rifugio Berti before descending. For those who are less young, we recommend the usual trekking poles—they really help your back and knees, especially on the way down. Once you reach Rifugio Lunelli, treat yourself to another moment of relaxation, observation, and study of the historical relics. After that, get back in your car, cross Valgrande where there are many points worth observing, then return to the SS52. You might be a little tired, but you will certainly have spent a beautiful and rewarding day, which you will remember fondly!
